Sunset on Queen Street

Toronto's Queen Street
These workers are getting ready to return to their families in Mexico. This was the last English class for the summer of 2008. They are happy to leave, and they are looking forward to once again holding their loved ones in their arms. They all are talking about the FIESTA that's waiting for them.

Eager Migrant Workers are learning ESL from the Even Better Foundation's volunteer.
You can help too! Contact me! We need many more English teachers for the many more locations. (no experience is necessary).

The chocolate and hot chocolate were invented in Mexico. These beautiful mugs are used in the Mexicanada Restaurant in Bradford. Try it one day!

These plants were grown by the Migrant Workers in Bradford, Ontario.

Mr. Bear

O.K., today he will not eat us.
phew.... thank God!
...and here HE comes, Mr. Bear...slowly, graciously, and curiously.
He's thinking about what he should have for lunch.

At the cottage.

The sound of the loon is indescribable. One must hear it and experience it to believe it.
It is incredible. This early morning I heard two adult loons crying and laughing while teaching their two little babies all about freedom.

Lake Angus

Runaway canoe.
Silence... and a little bird's chirping here and there... maybe a leaf has fallen behind me...silence again.

This is the only picture that wasn't taken by me. Danny took it.
He remembered that I took a shot of him in front of a hay stack, and he asked Dee to try a similar shot. I like the colours.

Puerto Vallarta sunset 2007

This picture was taken from our hotel balcony in the morning.
The waves washed out the sand in this circle shape.
It was amazing to see tha water run in a circle each time a new wave came.

Here is the picture of pure beauty.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
We just went for a little drive, up on the mountain side. We didn't expect to see heaven that day.

Dusty family business

What a hard life it must be, yet the man and woman might be the happiest people on Earth.... who knows?

The Owl

No, actually this is Suzuki. Our eco-friendly cat.

Thousands of candles....all lit up.

Everywhere you look, there are beautiful candles... and there are always lots of people praying, and meditating.
It was here in this church that I first saw a man climbing on his knees, begging for mercy.
I felt so compelled by it that I started praying for this man. I prayed to God that whatever he's praying for,
I hope God gives it to him.

Amazing GRACE!

I found this beautiful arrangement in the middle of a tiny church.
There were hundreds of bouquets of flowers on both sides of the church, and also on both sides of the rug in the middle walkway.

Mexican scenerio.

This was the biggest goat family I have ever seen. This was on our way to Oaxaca.

Christmas of 2007

Miewooooooooo......
My name is Dr. Suzuki.
I am the world's loudest cat!

Oh, well, I can't go any higher.........

This is as high as I got!
Monte Alban, Oaxaca

Just keep on climbing higher and higher!

This might be 'stairway to heaven'!
Especially if you are the one being beheaded for a sacrifice for God!

Path to the pyramids.

When you are walking up on this little path you have no idea what view is waiting for you!

Old and new meet.

It was nice to see this lady shopping in a CD store. I wonder what she purchased.

A family in the park relaxing and feeding the pigeons

I found it fascinating that the city centers usually have a large park surrended by government buildings, and huge cathedrals. Each weekend this park gets filled with well dressed children and their papas and mamas, turists, shoeshiners, musicians, and vendors selling their products, for example sliced fruits, fresh juices, ice scream, tacos, puppets, embroidered table cloths, and other beautiful handmade crafts.

Cuetzalan, Puebla, Mexico

A shy little boy looks away.....

Forgive my ignorance, but I didn't know at the time, that there are some kidnappings, and other terrible things happening with some of the children in Mexico, and in other South American countries. So parents teach their children not to be caught on camera. Many children ran away from us. Sometimes an older child grabbed the little ones to hide them from us. I am sorry that innocent children have to be scared of turists, and that they have to hear some horror stories.

Hole Mexico!

Now let's look around in Mexico!

Never mind the cold!

Keep walking until you see the elbow of the river!

The Colour Blue

My favourite colour...blue. All shades of it.

Blue like the sea, blue like the sky, blue like the shade on a snowy meadow, blue like the glass, blue like my mother's eyes, blue like the iris, blue like the clouds, blue like the music in the air, blue like a forget-me-not, blue like a blue jay, blue like the chalk, blue scribbling that my children left on the wall when they were little, blue....blue....blue....
Like my mood when I feel lonely. But if that happens, I switch to bright yellow,
and it cheers me up.
The morning glory of the Niagara Falls is awesome. It takes my breath away every time.....

Niagara Falls! The moment of sunset arrived.
The magic of dark will cover the city.
But the thundering water is falling, and falling, and falling, never goes to sleep.

Birds are so innocent

There is an aviary in Niagara Falls. Make sure you visit it next time you are there in the winter!
In the summer there are too many things to do outdoor.
It is indoors, but the setting is beautiful, there is a handcarved wooden building used as a cafe, there is a waterfall, and the birds are just flying around freely from tree to tree.
Welcome to The Heart of the Matter!

Whenever I return from a trip, from a vacation, from a friend's visit, or from work, I bring with me something in my mind.
A sweet little memory...put away in the drawers of my brain.

But the Heart of the Matter stays in within my soul, and my heart.
It is that little tingling and sqeezy feeling in my chest.
It is that special subtance of life that I want to treasure until I die.
That is the moment I try to capture in each of my photograph.
Enjoy!
